Many of the homeless in Fort Walton are Veterans.
“An estimated 1,000 people living in Okaloosa County are homeless, with up to 50 percent of them under the age of 18.”
said Dusty Ricketts of the Northwest Florida Daily News.

Santa Spotted in Shoreline Taxi headed to Henderson Beach Inn
Booth, a airport shuttle owner was totally surprised when the great big fella got in the back of the airport shuttle! He flew into Panama City Beach Airport this year. He let Rudolph and all the reindeer rest so he took Southwest Airlines from the North Pole to Panama City Beach for only $49. He had to buy 2 seats because of his weight but, Southwest customer service placed him in the two seats by emergency exit so he could have more leg room.
Santa had to find a place with the Christmas Spirit and Sunshine for rest before the big night. He was upset he had to look so hard to find the spirit of Christmas this year! He knew he could find it on the Emerald Coast. Santa took the Scenic Route on 30-A to view the beaches on his way to Henderson Beach Inn in Destin. Santa stays there when he visits Destin because, he is a little insecure about his weight and, the beach at Henderson Beach Inn is very private. Bryan tried to explain all the beaches would be private in December but he interrupted saying:
“All the the hotels and condos have candy canes, Christmas trees, and even nativity scenes. The spirit of Christmas is here!”
“I have to admit the ole fella was laughing and smiling and it was contagious!” said Bryan, the airport shuttle company owner.
Santa will only be on the Emerald Coast for a few more days. He said he would tweet us when he was ready to travel to Panama City Beach Airport.

Henderson Beach Inn confirmed that the jolly ole fella was at the beach hotel but, was resting and couldn’t see he anyone. He said while he was resting this year he would remember to pray for America and ask God’s love to shine throughout the world.
